Below is my outline for planning a cross country, on the last page their are links to even more things to consider when planning your cross country. If this is the first time you read anything about planning it may not make sense, it is supposed to refresh your thoughts after your lesson with me (or your CFI).
FAR 61.109 says among other things! you must have 3 hours of cross country flight training and 5 hours of solo cross country time to include one flight a total distance of 150nm with full- stop landings at 3 different airports (one of the segments must exceed 50 nm between airports)
